Coniston Flood Defence Barrier

Flood defence barrier

Description

The Coniston Flood Defence Barrier has been developed as a quick and convenient method of “building” a water tight flood barrier that can be easily erected in the event of a flood and also dismantled and stored away when the danger has passed.

It is suitable for installation to both residential and commercial property. We offer bespoke solutions for almost any scenario giving a proven and successful system, with Quality Assurance to ISO 9001:2008.

The Coniston Flood Defence Barrier makes use of two permanently-fixed vertical channels fitted either side of the opening to be protected, combined with pre-installed unobtrusive ground fixtures to allow the Patented “Twist and Lock” post system to be put in place. Aluminium panels 200mm high are then dropped into position so that when deployed, a barrier is created up to 1200mm high for any required span.

In the event of anticipated flooding, the system can be quickly deployed by anyone who has received the simple training required.

Component parts:

Vertical Rails

The permanently fixed vertical rails are available in two forms, either “reveal fix” which means fixing in between the reveals/brickwork of the doorway or “face fix” which means fixing onto the face of the brickwork.

Each rail comes with a recess to accept a Rail Compression Block (see Rail Compression Blocks) and has a seal on the inner side to form the water tight seal when the Coniston Barrier is deployed.Coniston Flood Defence Barrier

Panel Extrusion

Each individual panel is 200mm high x 17mm thick and is supplied with rubber seals to prevent water ingress. As all Coniston Barriers are manufactured to order, the aluminium panel is cut to the required length.

Wall Rail Compression Block

The compression block is inserted into a recess at the top of the fixed wall rails and is used to ensure adequate downward pressure is applied to each end of the barrier.

Compression Post

The compression post is utilised for Coniston Wall barriers that span over widths of 1500mm but less than 2500mm for heights up to 600mm. This component ensures that adequate downward pressure is applied along the entire barrier length.

Since each situation is different, your Coniston Flood Defence Barrier will be designed and built individually to your specific requirements.
